Meet The Team

For 20 years, Jonathan has been serving the Lord in pastoral ministry. Since 2005, throughout Virginia, South Carolina, and internationally, Jonathan has led worship and preached to a variety of small and large church congregations, communities, and individuals.

A passionate and energetic pastor, Jonathan brings enthusiasm and joy to every message he shares. He truly is an "Old Time Gospel" Baptist preacher.

Author of "9 Months to Say Goodbye" and "Pew Potato", Jonathan loves to share God's story of grace and love.

Pastor Jonathan is the husband of Jennifer and father to RJ, Virginia Rose, and Samuel. 

James is married to his wife, Monica Mew and has four children of their own; Blaklyn, Karsen, Corbin, and Nevaeh. James has lived here in Horry County his entire life. He was called into the ministry while serving here at Juniper Bay Baptist Church. During his time of ministry, he has worked with the Children's Ministry, has been a Worship Leader, has led in planting a church, and now resides here at JBBC as our Youth Pastor. James is passionate about seeing our youth come and grow in their relationship with Christ. He loves spending quality time with his family and leading our youth.

Marilyn Stalvey, of Conway, has been our church secretary since 2002. She is the second secretary in the church’s history. She is married to Mike Stalvey and they have a beautiful family of children and grandchildren. In addition to being church secretary, Mrs. Marilyn also helps with Good News Club, the Bereavement Committee, and she also helps coordinate any special programs we may have such as Christmas and Easter. She is a great asset to our church and helps to keep it running smoothly.

Jeannie Johnson loves to be a part of any music that lifts up the name of her Lord and Savior. Jeannie is a graduate of USC Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Education.  Previously served as Music Leader at Centenary United Methodist Church and presently serves as Minister of Music at JBBC. Jeannie is married to Edwin Johnson, a retired Horry County Deputy Sheriff and they have 2 sons:  Jeff and Cole Johnson. Jeff is a local attorney in Conway and presently serves in the SC House of Representatives. Cole served as a Fighter Pilot in the U. S. Air Force and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.  He presently is a Pilot with Federal Express.  5 precious grandchildren: Davis, Ava, Tyler, Lauren, and Evan. She loves the Lord with all of her heart, and thanks Him for blessing our music and her family in mighty ways!
